12th International Summit on Organic and Hybrid Photovoltaics Stability (ISOS-12) at KIT

After Rio de Janeiro, Freiburg, Malta and Suzhou, KIT hosted the world's leading conference on the long-term stability of modern thin-film solar cells. From October 6 to 9, 2019, more than 80 scientists from all over the world discussed how organic and perovskite solar cells can be made even more stable in the future. Latest research on the prevailing degradation mechanisms and appropriate avoidance strategies has been discussed. The conference was organized by a research team from the Materials Science Center for Energy Systems (MZE) at KIT around PD Dr. med. Alexander Colsmann: "We are pleased that the international photovoltaic research community has selected KIT for the conference. This is a great tribute to the steadily growing photovoltaic activity at KIT. "

Workshop "cross-linked, smart, secure - the future of energy supply" of the Forschungspartnerschaft Karlsruhe Energie on 24.10.2019 at KIT
Experts from science and practice discussed together how the energy supply can be designed in the future and explored common project ideas. At "market booths", a total of 10 different topics could be deepened. The spectrum ranged from the use of renewable energy sources such as geothermal energy, through the use of electricity and heat storage, to possibilities and challenges of digitization in the energy sector. Before the workshop, there was the opportunity to visit the Karlsruhe Energy Lab 2.0.
